The Boy Who Came Back – A Gerry Anderson A21 News Report

by A21 Reporter Andy Clems

Joe 90, the World Intelligence Network’s most special agent, has returned safely after a mysterious disappearance at the conclusion of a recent assignment.

Agent 90 had successfully completed a top secret operation, when the helijet he was travelling in exploded. Although there was no sign of Agent 90 in the wreckage, the World Intelligence Network were gravely concerned for his safety. It transpires that the WIN agent escaped an explosive fate by a whisker, ejecting moments before the craft was totally destroyed.

However, the story does not end there. After ejecting, Agent 90 was stranded in the middle of the desert and made his way on foot to the nearest settlement, a small town called Spectreville. It has long been rumored that Spectreville has connections with some of Bereznik’s most notorious gun-runners.

Indeed, on arriving in the town, Agent 90 soon found himself caught up in a race to stop one of the largest armament shipments in recent years. Senior WIN operative Sam Loover, available for comment on this occasion, provided some details of Agent 90’s escapade.

“Spectreville is a hive of criminal activity, of which gun-running is one of the most worrying operations. Agent 90 realised that something about the town was amiss after overhearing a conversation between two characters who I can only describe as exceptionally unpleasant. Following the pair to a remote barn on the outskirts of the settlement, Agent 90 discovered a huge shipment of the very latest automatic assault weapons, but was spotted while making his escape.

An intense firefight ensued, with Agent 90 sustaining minor injuries. In the process, a crate of explosives was hit and went up, taking out the roof of the barn and destroying the weapons cache. Agent 90 was able to make contact with WIN HQ and a rescue party arrived within the hour. Both men suffered severe injuries, but have been airlifted to a secure WIN medical center. Once they recover, we hope to get a lead on the next link in their smuggling pipeline.”

Agent 90 was not available for further comment, but we at A21 wish him congratulations on his safe return and hope that his future career in the WIN is a bright one.
