Gerry Anderson Wolverhampton Exhibition

Gerry Anderson Wolverhampton Exhibition

A new exhibition dedicated to Gerry Anderson has opened in Wolverhampton Central Library.

The exhibition commenced on Monday and will run until the 12th January, so there’s plenty of time to go along and see what all the fuss is about. With models, records, posters and artwork, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at the event.

Ian Edwards, who owns the display, said: “It started on Monday and it was a tribute to Gerry Anderson, the man who created a wide range of films and programmes including Thunderbirds. It goes on until January 12 and runs right the way through Christmas and the new year. The library wanted a family-friendly exhibition and approached me and I thought of Gerry Anderson because he’s touched the lives of so many.

There’s something for everyone in the exhibition. When I was setting up people kept coming up to me and admiring the display. It’s all part of a collection I’ve owned for years. They never really see the light of day and it’s nice to see them enjoyed by people. I’ve been collecting on and off for about 30 years, some of them are quite collectible. I did an exhibition on the moon landing about six months ago and the library asked me to come back and do another at Christmas. I thought Gerry Anderson straight away as he appeals to most people.”

If you’re in the Wolverhampton area and attend the event, we’d love to know what you thought of it and if you’d be interested in seeing similar events around the country.
